A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) gives you the opportunity to take more control of your health care spending. An HRA is paired with the HDHP Aetna Select Open Access medical plan and is funded by your employer to help you pay for qualified medical expenses. 

Artcraft will contribute $2,500 for single and $5,000 for those with dependents towards employees HRA account. The HRA can only be used for services associated with the medical plan. 

Anyone covered under the medical plan that receives a physical must submit proof to Innovative Benefit Planning to receive additional funding on their HRA account. Once proof is verified employees will receive an additional $500. Those enroll with dependents will receive an additional $1,000 once proof is verified for all dependents that are over the age of 18.

    In 2025, you can receive up to $2,500/Individual and $5,000/Family.

    HRA funds can be used to reimburse you for any expense you incur while covered by the HRA.

  • Unused funds carry over?

    HRA funds are available each year only assuming your employer continues to offer an HRA. Funds do not rollover and accumulate from year to year. Consult your plan for further details.

  • What expenses are eligible?

    The HRA can only be used for services associated with the HDHP Aetna Select Open Access medical plan.

  • Can I track my account online?

    Yes, at Ameriflex Participant Portal. You may also receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) after each claim is filed that shows your HRA balance (if any). An Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is a statement provided by your health plan that shows services you received, how your benefits apply, how much of the total cost is covered by insurance, and how much you owe.

  • Can I invest the money in my account?

    No.

  • Are my taxes affected?

    HRA funds are contributed to an account on your behalf; the money is not reported as income and you are not taxed on HRA funds you receive.

  • What happens to the money in my HRA if I leave the company?

    You have 90 days to submit claims against the plan. After 90 days unused funds will be lost. The money stays with your employer.
