The mail order feature allows you to get a 90-day supply of medication at a reduced price —it’s like getting a discount for buying in bulk. This option is usually reserved for maintenance medications, which are taken regularly for chronic conditions (like diabetes) or for prevention (such as allergy or asthma medications).

Prescription plans are often structured so that you get a 3-month supply for roughly the cost of two fills at a retail pharmacy. Your medication is shipped for free to your home, workplace, or another preferred location. Since the packages are unmarked, your privacy remains secure and your personal health information protected.

How does it work?
Getting your prescription delivered by mail takes just three simple steps:

  1. Call Aetna at 888-792-3862 or go to Aetna.com to log in to your member website. You can also download the Aetna Health app.
  2. Request mail service by phone or online. You may also print an order form and mail it to Aetna.
  3. Receive refills conveniently by phone or online.
